Location: Laratinga Pavillion, 100 Springs Road, Mount Barker.

What to expect.

Grading classes are designed to assist coaches in placing students into a team with students with similar abilities. This ensures all students will have maximum growth in confidence and skills over the year and separating students by ability also ensures Acacia will have the most competitive sub-junior teams possible for State Championships in August.

Grading classes are designed to be fun and low-pressure. In the first class students will be taught mini-routines in exercises, rods and aesthetic and in the second class they will review these routines with coaches and will be asked to perform them in small groups.

We encourage students to practice the routines in the week between classes and videos will be provided to assist them. If your child is struggling with work taught, please reach out to us for assistance.

After the second class, the grading coaches will collectively rank the students based on their performance and participation in both classes and place them in a team according to their rank. The grading panel decision is final. Unfortunately, we are not able to move students up a team for any reason, but we can move them down if you would prefer the class time of the team below.

Students will be notified of their team via email no later than Friday 17 February and regular classes will commence from Saturday 18 February. 2023 Sub-junior class information is below:

Sub-junior Team 3 (Black Team)
From Saturday 18 February 3:00-5:00pm

Sub-junior Team 2 (Pink Team)
From Wednesday 22 February 5:30-7:30pm

Sub-junior Team 1 (Gold Team)
From Friday 24 February 5:30-7:30pm

What to bring?

  • Drink bottle (water only)
  • Rod
  • Aesthetic Skirt.

If you do not have a rod or aesthetic skirt, please let us know and the coaches will provide one for your child.

What happens if my daughter does not attend Grading Classes?

If your daughter does not attend both Grading Classes she will automatically placed into the lowest team. If you need help getting your daughter to the grading classes, please contact us and will see if we can find someone to help you.
