What to expect.

Grading classes are designed to assist coaches in placing students into a team with students with similar abilities. This ensures all students will have maximum growth in confidence and skills over the year. Separating students by ability also ensures Acacia will have the most competitive sub-junior teams possible for State Championships in August.

Grading classes are designed to be fun and low-pressure. In the first class students will be taught mini-routines in 3 items and in the second class they will review these routines with coaches and will be asked to perform them in small groups.

We encourage students to practice the routines in the week leading up to the grading class and videos will be provided to assist them. If your child is struggling with work taught, please reach out to us for assistance.

After the second class, the grading panel will collectively rank the students based on their performance and participation in both classes. Once ranked, our Principle Coach (Renee) will place students in a team according to their rank.

Teams rankings will be as follows:

2025 Sub-junior Gold Team - classes will be Thursday 4:00-6:00pm
Up to 12 members will be selected
Students ranked up to 12

2025 Sub-junior Pink Team - classes will be Monday 4:00-6:00pm
Up to 12 members will be selected
Students ranked up to 24

The remaing students will have a choice between the follwoing classes:
2025 Sub-junior White - classes will be Tuesday 5:30-7:30pm
2025 Sub-junior Black - classes will be Saturday 1:15-3:15pm

** PLEASE NOTE: for both the white and black classes to run one of the teams must have a minimum of 10 members and the other a minimum of 6 to ensure both teams are eligible to compete at CASA State Champtionships in 2025. If there are not enough students to fill teams we will only run one of the classes.

The grading decision is final

Students will be notified of their team via email.
